Daikin AC Error Codes: Full List and How to Check (U4, A5, E7, F3, L5)
Daikin split ACs with a wireless remote store a fault code that you can read yourself. This list is from Daikin India's own error code page. Daikin India gives the meaning of each code but no fix; for a fault, Daikin says to switch off and contact service.
Safety: For a burning smell or any malfunction, Daikin's manual says to turn off the power and contact the service centre. Do not open the indoor or outdoor unit yourself.
How to see the code
- Point the remote at the indoor unit.
- Hold the Cancel button (on some remotes: ON/OFF TIMER CANCEL) for about 5 seconds until 00 blinks in the temperature display.
- Keep pressing Cancel. Each press shows the next code. A long beep means the code on screen is your fault code. 00 means normal.
- To exit, hold Cancel for 5 seconds again, or wait 1 minute.

Good to know
- Daikin India does not say which models this list covers. Codes on other Daikin ranges may differ.
- Check which unit the code belongs to. C4 (indoor) and J6 (outdoor) both mean a heat exchanger sensor fault; C9 (indoor) and H9 (outdoor) both mean a suction air sensor fault.
- If the operation lamp is flashing, Daikin India says to clean the air filters and restart from the remote. If it still flashes, disconnect the power plug or turn the breaker off and contact the place of purchase.
- If the AC blows no cool air, Daikin's manual says the cause may be a refrigerant leak and to consult the service centre.
