Safety: Bosch warns that washing water can get very hot and may scald you. Let it cool before draining, and expect leftover water to leak out when you unscrew the pump cover.

Fix it step by step

  1. Close the water supply, switch the machine off and pull out the mains plug.
  2. Let the water cool. Open and remove the service flap, take the small drain hose out of its holder, remove the sealing cap and drain the water into a container. Refit the cap firmly.
  3. Unscrew the pump cover. Clean the inside, the cover thread and the pump housing, and check that the impeller turns. Refit the cover with the grip vertical and close the flap.
  4. Pour 1 litre of water into compartment II and 1 litre into the detergent drawer. Run the drain programme and check for leaks.
  5. Check the drain hose for kinks and straighten it. If it looks damaged, disconnect it.
